Songjeong Tteokgalbi – 1st branch (송정떡갈비 1호점)
Songjeong is famous for its tteokgalbi (grilled short rib meat patties), which is one of the five must-eat food of Métropole unifiée de Jeonnam-Gwangju. There are many tteokgalbi restaurants around Gwangsan district office, but Songjeong’s history goes back to 1976 and making it the original store.
A good tteokgalbi is made by mixing the meat of beef short ribs and pork bone ribs in a one-to-one ratio and adding acacia honey to make the meat both tender and chewy. The dish is also reasonably priced. The secret to the delicious meat is the sauce, which is made with about 20 natural ingredients like kelp, radish, and green onion and no artificial seasonings. Also a pride of the restaurant is the broth made from pork bones which comes with the tteokgalbi.

Le marché de la gare Songjeong a ouvert ses portes en 1913, en même temps que la gare Songjeong. C’était un endroit où tous les habitants du quartier allaient faire leurs courses pendant de longues années. Mais la création des grands supermarchés dans les 1990 a rendu ce marché de moins en moins compétitif. Le marché Songjeong a arrêté la concurrence avec les grands supermarchés et a commencé à renforcer les caractéristiques des marchés traditionnels. L’espace a été totalement remodelé sous le thème du ‘temps’
Le marché de la gare Songjeong 1913 qui se situe en face de la gare KTX Gwangju-Songjeong a maintenant une architecture moderne avec des magasins qui ont des jolies enseignes qui montrent l’histoire de ces boutiques. On peut y goûter les plats des marchés traditionnels comme les hotteok (galette fourrée au sucre), les gyeran bap (du riz aux oeufs), les eomuk (des pâtes de poissons), etc.
